		<description>Problem is/was that original cougar was more of a personal luxury car based off mustang... unfortunately got shifted to thunderbird platform.

but there was more of a marked difference in the cougar to the mustang in the first gen... good idea to bring back the cougar to it&#039;s roots, but needs to be a different direction and not a warmed over &#039;stang.  now, the fwd cougar (though you can say blasphemy) was true to the idea.. personal coupe.. however, the cougar fell short on performance unless you had the V6.. and even then (i owned one) the 6 was eh. 

That cougar could have gotten away with the Capri badge actually.</description>
